Greetings, Grace Wesleyan Family!
Grace and peace of Jesus Christ to you!
This is a reminder that our study of John Wesley’s historic sermons continues tomorrow night, Thursday, January 20th at 7pm in the sanctuary. We have been learning how John Wesley made the teachings of Christ plain and clear for everyday people so that it becomes easy to know what it was that Jesus asked of us and commanded us to do. We have also learned that much of the teaching of the people who came from the Wesleyan Methodist movement has been cast aside and ignored in the last many decades, so much so, that many of us actually have no idea of the founding teachings of the movement.
Our goal is to recapture the truth of those teachings so that we might also be in God’s blessing as we understand the truth of Scripture, the truth of Christ’s teachings, and the inherent truths that John Wesley taught that allowed the greatest movement of Christian faith in the modern world to take root. May it take root again…with us!
Tomorrow we will be discussing Wesley’s sermon: “Upon Our Lord’s Sermon on the Mount: Discourse Four.” This sermon is based on Matthew 5:13-16. We hope you will be able to join us at 7pm for the discussion!
Peace…Christ’s peace…to you!
