serve the church

serve the church

Worship is more than singing and a sermon; it's an opportunity to serve one another. Each weekend, our volunteers suit up and show up to serve our congregation in a variety of ways. Read about them below and join us to serve next week!

greeters

For those who are a bit outgoing and who enjoy welcoming others. This is a great place to begin serving at church! No experience required! All you need is a welcoming spirit and a willingness to be a smiling face to greet those who come to our services.

ushers

Many people feel more comfortable being a quiet presence in church while they serve in needed ways. Ushers help with the directing of persons to their seats, assisting with things during worship such as passing the offering plate, directing persons to receive Holy Communion, and provide general assistance before, during, and after the worship services. No special experience required! The things that you would need to know are very easy to pick up and there are others who are willing to show you the ropes!

coffee & snack for services

This is as simple as it sounds! Supplies are all provided! All you have to do is be willing to be a little early and stay a little late to set up for self-service and tidy up after service!

alter set-up & tear-down

This is a “behind the scenes” set of tasks. No experience necessary! If you have always wondered what the altar colors and accoutrements are all about, this is the best way to learn…by setting it all up! A servant’s heart is all that is needed!

media

We have a modern audio/video system and we have a need for persons who are comfortable operating computer slide shows, audio sound equipment, and digital camera systems. We have persons who are knowledgeable and are willing to train others to provide assistance and fill-in while others are on vacation or just to rotate and share the work!

Video:
we use a digital camera to record our services. Some knowledge of operating a camera is helpful, but if you are willing to learn, we will teach you!

Sound: we use a multi-channel sound mixing board. While it can look intimidating, with a little time, almost anyone can learn how to use it! We are happy to teach willing persons how to operate it!
