Hope South Florida
A faith-based organization that offers a holistic response to homelessness with a focus on rapid re-housing. Volunteer in any of these areas:weekly shared meals – hot food preparation for 150-200 individuals and families; food pantry – grocery bags handed out five mornings a week to food-challenged families and individuals at the Pompano Campus of Christ Church; special events – quarterly birthday celebrations for homeless children at the Vision of Hope and Family Center; Homeless Families Day Center – helping the case managers take care of homeless families sleeping on the street in their vehicles with child care, food, clothing distribution, laundry services, and showers

GEMS
GEMS stands for Gracious Energetic Motivated Servers. Followers of Christ with a heart for service. Volunteers who gather together to serve families and children in need. They work throughout the year on projects often in cooperation with Hope South Florida in their mission to serve homeless families and veterans.Examples are: collections of gently used adult and children’s clothing; used eye glasses; school-age backpacks filled with classroom necessities; towels, wash clothes, and socks for Hope South Florida’s mobile shower; diapers for early learning schools with low-income enrollments; kitchen items and cleaning supplies as homeless families transition to housing. These are just a few of the projects; we are always looking for new ones as the Spirit leads us. We also enjoy Christian fellowship as we gather sometimes with a simple meal.

Carry Out for Kids
Carry Out for Kids is a ministry to chronically hungry or food-insecure children, ensuring they have something to eat on weekends and school holidays. For many of these kids, the schools’ free breakfast and lunch program provides the only guaranteed meals each day.
