Greetings,

As you know, Grace Wesleyan was founded as a result of a group of dedicated and faithful Christians sought to find a place to worship God and Christ as taught in Holy Scripture (The Bible). Most of us involved could not get straight answers from the leaders of our previous denomination, the United Methodist Church, as to the reason for the changes that were being forced upon our churches. Those leaders, pastors, district superintendents, cabinet members, and the bishop, all gave either intentionally vague or outright dishonest answers. Due the lack of concrete information in most quarters, we decided to form Grace Wesleyan (formerly the Wesleyan Fellowship Group) to be free from the constraints and falsehoods and to be able to worship God as the Holy Spirit was leading us and scripture was guiding us.

Because of our struggles, and subsequent success at forming and bringing to life Grace Wesleyan, the leaders of our church feel it is our obligation to the Christian community at large, and the Methodist community in particular, to help others who struggle like we did. To do this, we will make our space available so that those in the know can share the truth with others who seek straight answers. On May 1st, the Global Methodist Church becomes an official world-wide church and there is a lot of information regarding this effort that is not being shared in local churches.

On Sunday, March 13th at 1:30pm in the Family Life Center of Shepherd of the Coast Lutheran Church, 1901 E. Commercial Blvd, Fort Lauderdale, Florida (two blocks west of Federal Highway) an information session will be held for any and all Methodist laity in South Florida. Please share this information with any Methodists you may know at any churches in Broward, Dade, or Palm Beach Counties. Encourage them to share the date and time with their churches and like-minded friends who want to know the real truth about the upcoming events in Methodism.

We at Grace Wesleyan are not participating in this event, although many of our members may attend the event. We are simply facilitating the event so that our sisters and brothers who have questions can get them answered honestly. This will be a safe place to come and get information and ask those questions. A program will be presented by Rev. Jay Therrell, President, Wesleyan Covenant Association of Florida.

We pray that God will bless the efforts of everyone who is involved with keeping the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ alive and well in South Florida and elsewhere that the church is under attack.

Grace and peace to you,

Rev. Myron Rhodes, Jr.
