Greetings Family and Friends of Grace Wesleyan!

We have a number of service opportunities coming up that we want you to be aware of so you can make plans to participate as you feel led to do so!

First, a Habitat for Humanity build is taking place on Saturday, October 9th.  The work will be from 7:30 to 11:30am, and it is inside framing, installing insulation, and related work.  Long sleeves, long pants, closed-toed shoes, and eye protection is required.  Masks and gloves are strongly suggested as well.  If you are interested in serving in this very worthy cause, please contact Pastor Myron to get the sign-up information.

Also, our very own GEMS™ crew is launching their next campaign.  The season of FALL is upon us–It is time to get together–Remember that in spite of all the warm weather, the months of cooler temperatures are coming. —Our Families at Hope South Florida will face a need for hoodies —they will be in need of warmth.  This is where we can help.  At this time in the past, we have collected hoodies–any and all sizes.   We are ready for a group meeting of the GEMS™. We will meet on Thursday October 21st at 10:00am at the Shepherd of the Coast. For questions, please contact Barbara or Doug Timmerman, 954-566-9524.  Donations to GEMS can be made through Grace Wesleyan Church, please designate GEMS in the “for” on your check!

With the arrival of Fall, we should keep our hearts on those who will struggle to put food on the table, especially during the holidays.  Please keep the Helping Hands Food Pantry ministry in mind, and if you wish to make any food donations to them, please contact Donna or Patrick McCarthy at 954-487-8514 to get a list of items needed.

And, as always, let us not forget Hope South Florida and the work they do for the homeless in our community.  You may make donations to HSF by designating so on a check to Grace Wesleyan, or you can contact HSF directly to inquire about any service opportunities.

May we all be mindful that as disciples of Christ we are called to reach out to the “least of these” and to help those most in need in our midst.  The vulnerable are so because of circumstances beyond their control in many cases.  May we be the hands, feet, and heart of Christ to as many of those less fortunate than ourselves as we can find!

Grace and peace to you all,

Pastor Myron
